Academic positions held during Wilbert's career included assistant, instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, professor, and professor emeritus, department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, UIUC, 1948-1984. Other professional employment during this time period included summer positions at Battelle Memorial Institute, Columbus, OH; American Locomotive Company, Dunkirk, NY; the Trane Company, LaCrosse, WI; E.I. duPont Company, Wilmington, DE; Carrier Corporation, Syracuse, NY; Commonwealth Edison Company, Chicago, IL: Exxon Research and Development, Florham Park, NJ. He also served as a consultant for several dozen industrial and government organizations. Will served as Scientific Advisor for the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration for ten years, and one of the scientific advisors for the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses for 28 years. He had lectured throughout the U.S., Europe, and South America and was the author of five textbooks. Will passed away in September 2010.
