Mr. Voss has worked in the power generation industry for the past 18 years with Burns & McDonnell Engineering.  During that time Mr. Voss has had several positions within production, sales, marketing and management with increasing responsibility.  Currently, Mr. Voss is the manager of Burns & McDonnell’s Plant Services Department.  He oversees the efforts related to electric utility air pollution control, water treatment, and combustion improvements. The Plant Services Department is a group of hands on engineers and technicians focused on existing plant retrofit projects and new generation pollution control. 

Mr. Voss began his career with Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company after eight years in the defense industry. In his career at Burns & McDonnell, Steve advanced through senior engineer, and staff engineer, to become lead engineer, project manager, business development manager, and plant services department manager which is his current position within the Energy Division. The Energy Division is responsible for engineering studies, design, installation, construction, start-up, operations, rehabilitation and re-powering of projects for electric generating power plants using fossil fuels and renewable energy sources.

Steve served as the chair of Team Research and has served on several other committees within the Missouri S&T Corporate Development Council over the past 7 years.  Mr. Voss has helped raise funds within his company for the naming of several newly renovated facilities at Missouri S&T including the Toomey Hall Student Lounge. Other professional activities include many published articles and technical papers in various power industry venues.  Mr. Voss is currently registered as a professional engineer in three states. Community activities include various community service projects, such as: renovating homes for underprivileged people, renovating a church after flood damage in southern Missouri, food distribution for the needy, and numerous positions as a member and deacon of Church on the Rock Outreach Center in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
