Ron graduated from UMR in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Summa Cum Laude, and was a Summer Intern at McDonnell Douglas.  While at Rolla, Ron was a four-year varsity letterman in Cross Country and Track and team captain during his senior year. From 1990-91, he was a research assistant at the University of Illinois at Urban-Champaign, where he earned a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Since 1991, Ron has provided air quality engineering, chemical process safety, and environmental compliance support to clients in the aerospace, chemical, energy, and general manufacturing sectors.  He is a licensed professional engineer in Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois, and is currently employed as a Senior Managing Consultant at Ramboll.  

Ron lives in St. Charles, Missouri and his son Brandon is attending SEMO with plans to be a high school teacher and track coach.  Ron has two nephews and one niece currently at Missouri S&T. 

Ron joined the Order of the Golden Shillelagh (OGS) in 2009, and in 2011 became a charter member of the newly formed Academy of Miner Athletics.  Ron served as the academy president from 2013-2014 and began the Life Skills initiative, where Alumni members provide insight to student athletes.  Ron was inducted into the Miner Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015.  He is currently Vice-Chair of the St. Charles County, Missouri Local Emergency Planning Committee, and previously volunteered at the Lake of the Ozarks Watershed Alliance and the American Lung Association.
