Upon graduating from UMR magna cum laude, John began his career with McDonnell Douglas, working in Aircraft Cockpit and Crew Escape Systems Design.  John pursued his Master’s Degree while working at McDonnell Douglas and graduated at UMR in 1991 summa cum laude.  John’s engineering career has spanned corporate acquisitions by Boeing, Goodrich, and United Technologies where John has become the Senior Manager and Chief Engineer for Military Seating Engineering and Testing.

John and his wife Jeannie reside in Colorado Springs, CO.  Jeannie recently retired from Northrop Grumman as a Major Subcontracts Administrator.  They have 2 children.  Christopher is a nurse at Penrose Hospital Cardiac Center.  Austin graduated from University of Colorado Boulder in 2018 and is now pursuing his Physician’s Assistant Degree. 

John is a member of the Survival and Flight Equipment (SAFE) Association.  John has been a supporter of multiple local university senior design project teams and the Air Force Academy Cadet Engineering Projects.  John has become known worldwide as one of the few technical experts in aircraft ejection seat engineering, airworthiness, and ejection injury mitigation.
