John is a Missouri native, and one of five siblings with engineering degrees from UMR. He began his career with Caterpillar as a Research Engineer in Mossville, IL., and later worked for Cummins Engine, in Columbus, IN. In 1987, John returned to the St. Louis area to work for Hussmann Corporation, the leading manufacturer of refrigeration equipment for the supermarket industry. He progressed through various management roles including Vice President of R&D Engineering, and finally Vice President, Engineering-Retail Solutions. In this position he directed their new product development programs in the U.S., Europe, and Asia and led current product engineering groups at seven manufacturing plants in the U.S., Mexico and Brazil. In 2007, John chose to move from equipment manufacturing to the retailer side of the supermarket industry, and joined Schnuck Markets, Inc. in St. Louis. He is currently Vice President, Store Planning, Construction & Maintenance. His team is responsible for the planning, design and construction of all new store and remodels, as well as all aspects of maintaining the current facilties and equipment in their existing fleet of 100 supermarkets, in seven states in the Midwest.

John was awarded a Professional Degree by UMR in May, 2007. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Missouri, a member of ASHRAE, RSES, and ASME, and holds seven U.S. and several international patents.
