About John A. Yates

BSME 1987, UMR

Upon graduating from UMR, John began a career in Aerospace with General Dynamics Fort Worth as a Materials and Processes Engineer. He has held various engineering and corporate leadership positions with Vought Aircraft, and Northrop Grumman both domestically and Internationally in Japan and South Korea. For the past 10 years, John has been a Director of Engineering at LMI Aerospace’s corporate headquarters in St. Charles, MO.

John is a native of Missouri, growing up in Bonne Terre. He currently resides in Foristell with his two sons. Brandon is enrolled in St. Charles Community College, and Sean is a senior at Timberland High School.

John serves on the Missouri S&T Center for Aerospace Manufacturing Technology (CAMT) Industry Advisory Board, and spends his leisure time traveling, fishing, and riding motorcycles with his children.
