After graduation from MSM, Glenn began his career with McDonnell Aircraft Company, which is now part of The Boeing Company. He spent his first 12 years on space programs including Mercury and Skylab. He then moved to the missile side of the business and was involved with the Harpoon, Tomahawk, and SLAM ER programs. On the missile programs, Glenn was responsible for developing the software that flew with the missile in its onboard computer. This software was at the center of the weapon system. In addition to controlling the missile’s flight, it also interfaced with the various launch platform computers for initialization data and onboard sensors to guide the missile to its target.
