Gary presently is president of Schumacher Consulting, St. Louis, providing construction services for the oil refining, petrochemical, power, and other heavy industries nationally.He is a member of the policy committee of the National Maintenance Agreements, Chairman of the Zero Injury Initiative for the Construction Industry, and chairman of the Construction Labor Cost Effectiveness Subcommittee, all in Washington D.C. Gary formerly was president of Murphy Industrial Constructors and previous president of Brooks Erection and Construction.Gary has actively served in numerous civic organizations. He has been an alderman, chairman of planning and zoning and a member of the Police Board for the city of Manchester. He served as president of the St. Louis Section of the MSM/UMR Alumni Association, director for Centere Bank, a member of the board of advisors of the Construction Industry Institute, and past president and founding member of the Academy of Mechanical Engineers. In 1999 he received an Alumni Service Award from the University of Missouri-Rolla.
