Upon graduating from UMR, Scott began his career with Granite City Steel, serving in an engineering and operations position focused on the energy infrastructure for the mill. Scott left the steel industry for the utility sector when he joined Union Electric Company, the predecessor of Ameren Corporation. He served at Ameren for 25 years in many engineering and management positions within the natural gas business working his way up to Vice President of Gas Operations and Business Development. Scott then worked for G2 Integrated Solutions (based in Houston, TX) as Vice President of the Midwest Division supporting pipeline engineering and integrity projects throughout the greater Midwest. Currently, Scott is employed as a Project Manager Pipelines with Burns & McDonnell in Chesterfield, MO where his primary responsibility is building the gas pipeline integrity practice for the Pipelines and Facilities business line.
Scott is a native of Millstadt, IL and has three daughters. His oldest daughter, Samantha, is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis and is serving as a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. His middle daughter, Megan, is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering and is also employed by Burns & McDonnell. His youngest daughter, Sarah, is a student at Missouri State University studying agricultural sciences.
Scott serves on the Board of Directors of United 4 Children and enjoys many hobbies including bicycling, older Corvettes, golf, and WWII history.
