Robert graduated from UMR in 1981 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and served as the President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Rush chairman. He started his career with Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio. Robert is currently owner of Hoffmann Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning in St Louis. Since 1988, Hoffmann Brothers has grown from 4 employees to over 50 employees. They specialize in residential and Commercial HVAC and plumbing.
In 2019, the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) announced Hoffmann Brothers Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing, and Electrical Company of Brentwood, Missouri as the ACCA 2019 Residential Contractor of the Year. In 2004, the Better Business Bureau honored Hoffmann Brothers as the best service company in St. Louis with their World-Class Customer Satisfaction Award. Robert serves on the board of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America and was the President for two years. Robert was voted Air Conditioning Contractors Man of the Year in 2000, 2001, and 2002. This award is given for leadership and contribution to the HVAC industry. Robert has served on the Kappa Sigma House Corporation for over 20 years, 12 of which as President. In 1995 he was honored as the Kappa Sigma man of the year. Robert also served on the Advisory Boards of Rankin Technical College and Vatterott Technical College. He currently serves on the Executive Board of the Better Business Bureau. He served as President of the UMKC parents association. He is also is a board member of Associated Builders and Contractors, serving as President in 2006. He also served on the building committee of Chaminade College Preparatory.
