The day after graduating from UMR, Randy began his career at Dayco in the Springfield Tech Center. Starting as Project Engineer developing equipment for R&D lab use and new process technology plant equipment, he was given responsibility for developing a totally new product line for the company. This development involved direct contact with several of the top OEM auto and truck manufactures leading to the first of these product sales in 1982. This is now one of Dayco’s primary products.
Randy managed several different product and application engineering groups; he also led Dayco’s effort in TQM in the early 1990’s. His work with a major Japanese customer was one of his most enjoyable assignments, leading to very successful business for Dayco. In 2002, he was given the assignment of innovating new technology to support several distinct product lines. This brought exposure to virtually all products and processes within the company and allowed him to work with some highly respected people in the automotive industry. Along the way, his innovation has helped him to receive 41 U.S. patents covering a broad array of Dayco’s product lines. Currently, he directs the activities of the North American automotive aftermarket engineering and applications group based in Springfield.
