Paul Niewald is Vice President and Program Manager for an Advanced Proprietary Program within Boeing’s Air Dominance Division. Previously, he led the T-7 Red Hawk Advanced Pilot Training Programs as Vice President/Program Manager.
Paul began his career at McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis, pursuing his passion for aerospace as an aerodynamics engineer. He was a key contributor to the high-speed aerodynamic development of F/A-18E/F leading to the success of the aircraft performance test programs and operational evaluations. He has held diverse engineering and business-related leadership positions during his career at the company, including leading key programs and development activities. Prior to his Vice President/Program Manager roles, Niewald served as the Chief Engineer for major aircraft programs that include the F/A-18 Strike Fighter and the T-X/T-7 Advanced Trainer. He was the T-X/T-7Chief Engineer from 2012 to 2020, successfully leading the design and digital development effort that took the T-7A advanced trainer from firm concept to first flight in 36 months.
He has been recognized by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics for his achievements in changing the way aircraft are designed and built with the 2022 Hap Arnold Award for Excellence in Aeronautical Management.
