Mike began his career as a UMR co-operative education student at Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company. In his 36 years at Burns & McDonnell, Mike advanced through junior engineer, assistant engineer, lead engineer, station design section chief, and mechanical department manager to his position at retirement of vice president, Energy Division. The Energy Division participates in the engineering studies, design, installation, construction, start-up, operations, rehabilitation and re-powering of projects for electric generating power plants using fossil fuels and renewable energy sources. Mike served as the chair of Team Co-op, a subcommittee of the UMR Corporate Development Council and chair of the scholarship committee of the Academy of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineers. Other professional activities include membership in ASME, MSPE, and registration in eight states. Community activities include past participation in Project Business Junior Achievement and as a board of directors member of JA, fundraising activities for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and numerous positions as a member and deacon of First Baptist Church, Raytown, Mo.
