Mike currently serves as Vice President and General Manager of Product Development for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, leading the team responsible for developing future production systems, airplanes, derivatives and services. Prior to this, Mike was the Chief Project Engineer and Vice President of Engineering for the 787 Program, leading the airplane through systems design, flight test, certification and entry into service.
Mike and his wife Michelle, a general surgeon, live in Woodway, Washington. They have 3 children – Sophie started this year as a freshman in the engineering program at the University of Washington. Twins Hannah and Connor attend Edmonds-Woodway High School.
Mike is also a licensed pilot, a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He currently serves on the board of HRL Labs and on the board of Seattle’s Museum of History and Industry.
