About Mark E. Eck

BSME 1980, UMR 

Upon graduating from UMR cum laude, Mark began his career with ARCO Oil and Gas , serving in various engineering, operations and business development management positions in Tulsa, OK,  Midland, Dallas & Plano, Texas as well as 12 years in Anchorage, AK.  Following his work at ARCO, he continued his oil and gas career with SM Energy as the Business Development / Procurement Manager, Samson Resources as VP of Business Development and finally as the Chief Operating Officer of MidStates Petroleum all in Tulsa, OK.   Currently, Mark is semi- retired working as a real estate developer and investor from his home town of Springfield, MO.  

Mark and his wife Mary are both Engineering graduates and have four children living across the U.S.  Mary holds a MS degree in Petroleum Engineering from University of Texas who has worked as an engineer as well as a high school physics teacher. Their boys hold a variety of college degrees and are pursuing their careers in the medical, economics and data analytics fields. children.  

Mark and Mary are active in real estate development in Springfield while spending time enjoying travel, golf, and water sports at  Table Rock Lake, and time with family and friends.

Mark is the third of seven brothers who graduated from UMR with Mechanical Engineering BS degrees.
