 Prior to retirement as Chairman, President and CEO of the Williams Companies, Keith was active in numerous civic, industry and charitable organizations on both a local and national level. Keith felt that being Chairman of United Way of America was a particularly high profile position, as that was what he did in the 1990's. He has also chaired both the Missouri S&T and Tulsa University Boards of Trustees. In addition to the MSM Athletic Hall of Fame, Keith is also in the Oklahoma and Tulsa Hall of Fames as well as the Oklahoma State and Tulsa University Engineering Hall of Fame and the Tulsa University and Oklahoma City University Business Hall of Fames. He was Brigham Young University Marriott School of Business International Executive of the Year. Keith is also a non-executive shairman of Cloud Peak Energy for Apco International Oil and Gas, formerly known as Apco Argentina, Aegis, Markwest Engery Partners and Integrys Energy.
