Jon Schneider drives business strategy development and improvement initiatives throughout Spire Energy, a Fortune 1000 multi-state natural gas utility. Prior to joining Spire, Jon retired as an executive leader at the Boeing Company. His career spanned engineering, operations, program management, and HR leadership roles.
As an Operations leader, Jon led the design of the best-in-class Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) production system. His team ultimately delivered thousands of weapons kits, including those critical to the success of Operation Allied Force in 1999. Today, over 500,000 JDAM weapon kits have been delivered and used to protect the U.S. and our allies.
In his Program Management and Engineering roles, Jon served as Deputy Program Manager and Chief Engineer for the design phases of the HyFly hypersonic weapon technology program with Mach 6, 400-mile capabilities. Prior to this, he was Program Manager for air-launched, JDAM systems and guided dispensers to clear the surf and beach zones of mines and obstacles prior to amphibious assaults.
As an HR executive, Jon led an enterprise-wide team responsible for the technical and professional development of over 150,000 employees and suppliers of the Boeing Company. This included supporting the development of engineers and other technical employees on programs such as the 787 Dreamliner commercial airplane and the P-8A Poseidon anti-submarine warfare system. His other HR executive roles included senior HR partner to several Boeing Defense, Space and Security divisions and major functions.
Jon enjoys life with his wife, cheering on his children in their life pursuits, and creating curious grandchildren that love science.
