After serving in the U.S. Army, Jim spent eight years with Alcoa and seven with RCA.Later he joined the National Semiconductor Corporation as Product Reliability Manager.His first venture into the medical product development and manufacturing industry was as General Manager of American Latex Corporation, Sullivan, Indiana.In 1977 he founded his first medical manufacturing company, Vance Products, Inc. Two other companies, Van-Tec Inc. and Medical Polymers, Inc. were created between 1981 and 1988. In 1988 CCA, a medical clinic in Arizona, was formed.Jim is currently active in his present company, JFV Associates, located in Spencer, Indiana. In 1994 the University of Missouri-Rolla honored Jim as an outstanding entrepreneur.
