About Fred "Art" Simmons

F. Arthur Simmons earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Missouri S&T in 1966. He also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago. After graduation, Simmons worked two years at General Motors and then held positions of increasing responsibility at several other companies, including general manager of the Wickes Corp., vice president and general manager of LaSalle Steel, vice president and general manager of the construction equipment group at International Harvester (IH), and vice president and general manager of the International Harvester agricultural equipment group. In 1984, he founded Astechnologies Inc. In 1993, he created Euro American Composites Technologies and currently serves as president. Simmons is a member of the Triangle social fraternity.
