Ed Gerding is currently the Vice President and Chief Engineer for the Global Engineering & Operations team within Boeing Global Services (BGS). This large and diverse team includes over approximately 5,000 engineers supporting defense mods and sustainment, commercial training, data analytics, and international engineering organizations in the United Kingdom and Australia. Ed began his career in 1984 with McDonnell Douglas/Boeing as a structures design engineer, working on a variety of programs and assignments of increasing responsibility, including long-term assignments at Israel Aircraft Industries in support of F-15 co-production and at Boeing-South Carolina to drive affordability of the 787 Dreamliner. Ed serves as the Boeing executive focal for Tennessee State University, a historically black college or university located in Nashville. Ed is a registered professional engineer in the State of Missouri, and was selected as a Fellow in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
Ed resides in St. Charles, Missouri. Ed has two daughters. Ashton is a tenured Communication professor at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, and Callie is a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Between Ashton and Callie, they have provided five grandsons!
