Early in his career, Don's interests were directed toward the health care engineering field where he spent 29 years with BJC Health Systems in St. Louis, Mo., before retiring in January 2002 from his position of Vice President Facilities. Don Quickly "unretired" to accept the position of vice president of the health care division of Alberici Constructors in St. Louis, which allowed him to pursue his passion for health care construction on projects throughout the U.S.He was then recruited by SSM Health Care to manage the very substantial capital construction initiatives for the Systems St. Louis Region, currently serving in the capacity of Executive Director Design and Construction. Don has served UMR as a Chancellor's Leadership Class speaker and as an officer, director, and president of the Academy of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineers. In 1994 he was awarded a professional degree by UMR. He has served as national president of the American Hospital Association's Society for Healthcare Engineering and is a fellow of the society. Don currently serves St. Louis county government as a commissioner for the St. Louis County Boundary Commission and has served 3 terms as chairman of the commission.
Don continues to be active in the Boy Scouts of America having served as a district commissioner, assistant council commissioner anddistrict vice chairman.The BSA has awarded Don the "Silver Beaver" recognition.
