About Dale A. Spence

Dale started his career in product development at Caterpillar in Chicago, before returning to Missouri to work in product development and sales at Federal Mogul.  Dale and Tricia, his wife, both returned to Missouri S&T to purse MS degrees in 2004.  Dale started at Veeder-Root (a Danaher subsidiary) following his MS degree and worked in product development, manufacturing, project management and commercialization in Pennsylvania and Connecticut.  In 2017, Dale returned to St. Louis where he leads global strategy and the Asia Pacific business for AFB International. 

Dale and Tricia reside in Layfette Square in St. Louis.  Tricia is a director of strategic planning at Edward Jones and Kappa Delta’s National President.  Dale is a co-founder and currently Treasurer of the Alpha Kappa Educational Foundation, started in 2003 to provide financial support to MS&T Pi Kappa Alpha members.  Dale served as a Miner Alumni Association Director from 2006-2012, is a member of the Order of the Golden Shillelagh and received the Miner Distinguished Young Alumni Award in 2014.
