Ed intertwined his advanced degrees with industry experience at Pratt & Whitney and General Motors Corporation. He returned to Pratt & Whitney in 1976, where he is currently responsible for all engineering functions at the engine unit of United Technologies Corporation. He was inducted into the National Academy of Engineers in October 1998.
