The Academy of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineers at Missouri University of Science and Technology was established to recognize outstanding alumni for their professional achievement and success, and to create a group that would provide organized assistance to the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. Membership is by invitation extended from the current members. The organization’s ongoing activities focus on improving the educational experience of the department’s students.
Recognition: To recognize those graduates of the mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or engineering mechanics curricula who bring honor to mechanical and aerospace engineering as practitioners and as citizens.
Consultancy: To provide advisory guidance and counsel at the call of the mechanical and aerospace engineering chair, faculty or students.
Ambassadorship: To strengthen the dedication to and understanding of students to mechanical and aerospace engineering through personal and professional example.
Sponsorship: To advance the objectives of the development program by identifying, securing, and providing financial support for the mechanical and aerospace engineering program.
Eligibility requirements:
Nomination by a current academy member, or a current or emeritus faculty member.
Demonstration of exemplary professional achievements and success.
Interest in the quality and future of the mechanical and aerospace engineering program and Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Commitment to support and improve the mechanical and aerospace engineering program.
Attendance at the induction ceremony at Missouri University of Science and Technology.
